GreenPower

Purchasing 100% GreenPower can reduce your household’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent.
How does GreenPower work?
GreenPower is a government accreditation program for renewable energy. GreenPower can be purchased through electricity suppliers who ensure your electricity is produced from renewable sources such as mini hydro, wind power and biomass which produce no net greenhouse gas emissions and have minimal impact on the surrounding environment. Purchasing GreenPower reduces the need for electricity to be generated by burning fossil fuels, such as coal and natural gas.
Almost every energy company in Australia provides a GreenPower Accredited Renewable Energy product. The higher the percentage (i.e. 10%, 20% or 100% GreenPower), the more renewable energy you are purchasing, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions for electricity production.
Purchasing GreenPower does not mean your electricity will come directly from a renewable source to your property. Instead, the equivalent of renewable energy is added to the electricity grid on your behalf every year.
Access to GreenPower products is temporarily unavailable. In the mean time visit www.greenpower.com.au for further information about GreenPower.
